one thing that i've noticed about this season and i'm not sure if i'm just reading to deep into it, but he wanted to kill paulie on the boat and he couldn't do it, and it seems as though he's been wanting to get rid of christopher for a while and he could only bring himself to do it when chris was incapacitated and near death anyways.

also to people hating on the vegas/peyote scene, that [censored] was money.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking along similar lines, except that his frustration at not being able to kill Paulie might have pushed him enough to kill Chris when the opportunity presented itsself. In other words, he couldn't 'pull the trigger' with Paulie, or with his brother-in-law who kicked his butt, for that matter, and wasn't going to let another opportunity to get rid of a nuisance go by.

I was disappointed with the peyote scene. Considering all the vivid dreams that Tony has, and how they've helped him make decisions/warned him of future dangers, I was waiting for the vision quest moment. I think that was what Tony was looking for as well, along with [censored] Chris' gumarr as a substitute for his widow.

Anyone else think that killing Christoper when he was already drowning in his own blood was a mercy killing

[/ QUOTE ]

No way. Unlike many things in the Sopranos, I don't think this one is even open to interpretation. One reason amongst many is that Tony starts out to call 911 then stops and kills Chris.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I figured, I just still want to like him...

This is one of the best soprano's episodes ever without a doubt

Tony kills christopher, hops in the sack with Christopher's white-hot hooker pal, and immediately becomes a luckbox gambler, althought i'm sure his luck is going to immediately turn for the worse

Easily the best Sopranos episode in the last several seasons.

[/ QUOTE ]

It may be the best episode, but not "easily". This entire season has been incredible so far.

[/ QUOTE ]

Long Term Parking at the end of season5 might be the best Sopranos episode

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't remember that particular episode. Quick cliff note so I can understand your view, pls.

Ade dies. They park her car at Newark Airport so the Feds think she left. Therefore.... Long Term Parking.

"hahahahah... great post. People like Murph probably would be much happier with this show if they would have stopped watching after Season 2. Before it got all, you know, existential and stuff."

You know, the only thing worse than Chase taking the easy way out with Christopher's death IMHO, are Soprano elitists like Challenger.

I mean, come on dude, have you perhaps given some thought to the fact that just because someone dislikes a certain approach doesn't mean they don't "get it" in the brilliant, existential, Einstein-like way you do?

Bottom line...again, all I said was that I was sorely disappointed in the way Chris was disposed of because I thought more could have been done with it (is that hard to wrap yourself around?), that I felt parts of the season were rushed (as many others in this thread have echoed) and that - simply - I think it was a poor episode.

Key point here Challenger...my opinion. I don't stand on a platform as you do and assault those than feel differently. I get that things can't all be wrapped up in a "tight little bow"...but, Chris was so important, I wanted more for that piece of the show.

Seriously, elitists, chill out..just because someone expresses a negative thought, leave the same sorry, old, worn out assaults in your back pocket.

Peace

somebody please explain to me why this was even a good episode, let alone "one of the greatest ever", as some people have stated. TIA.
