Top 2 vs. All-in on flop... ohhhh NL
I'm trying to get back into NL, so please excuse what is probably a routine decision that I would like to hear your thoughts about. I've been playing a lot of limit lately and feel rusty at NL. In this hand I'm pretty new to the table and have no reads, but the table is your basic $.1/.25 party fish fest.
My only question really is was I correct in folding to the reraise all-in? Re: Top 2 vs. All-in on flop... ohhhh NL
This is almost never a fold at these stakes man...sorry. You see Ax or an AK/AQ that thinks he's clever by not raising and basically any two cards way too often to make a fold with top 2 here. I think you're good here 95% of the time. 33 and 66 happen, lick your wounds and move onto the next hand if he does have those.

Re: Top 2 vs. All-in on flop... ohhhh NL
Why would he go all-in? He thinks I'm on a straight draw? His relatively small first bet on the flop would make me think he is looking for callers. I would expect a larger bet from him if he is holding AK or AQ. I suppose the fact that someone called behind me could explain his big move...

Re: Top 2 vs. All-in on flop... ohhhh NL
Just to add a little more I want to talk about what hands I think he could possibly have here. They are AA, AK, AQ, A6, A3, 66, 33. Based on my own cards obviously some are more likely than others, but I can't put him on any other hands really. If you think he would have prf with AA: the same goes for AK and AQ... leaving A6, A3, 66, 33. I have a hard time assuming he was being tricky preflop with AK or AQ, not that it doesn't happen but these aren't the typical slowplay pf hands. Which means he most likely has A3, 66, or 33 in my mind. One of those I beat the other two I don't. There were 7 people seeing the flop and in my mind that makes it more likely that one of those people has a set and he would be the obvious owner of the set... but that probably makes no logical sense. I guess I just don't like investing so much more into a pot that I'm certainly not committed to.

At those stakes this is Ax so many times.
Why would he go all in with a set instead of milking you? This is a pretty bad fold. |

You are giving your opponent WAY too much credit here. You're ahead 75% of the time, minimum.

Re: Top 2 vs. All-in on flop... ohhhh NL
Alright, thanks for all the input. I agree with you guys that my fold wasn't correct. He actually got called by the sb the sb blind won when a 7 came to make his straight (not that it matters I know). I just looked to see what the villian had in the hand and he had A3... thus I had him beat, with a higher 2 pair than his.
