Re: Rakim
My favorite Rakim songs not yet mentioned:
"In the Ghetto" and "Follow the Leader". Also, "I take 7 MC's put em in a line And add 7 more brothas who think they can rhyme Well, it'll take 7 more before I go for mine And that's 21 MC's ate up at the same time" This is pretty much a true statement. |

Re: Rakim
Starvs Your argument is completly ridiculous. It doesn't matter if people listened to his rap and influenced them, the final product of that rapper is what is important. Big L would be just as sick lyrically and the way he flows whether or not Rakim existed.

Re: Rakim
I aint no joke is very good. But Still this is no where close to Big L's talent. Big L is like the same thing, only better. I think people just don't listen to L enough to realize he is better

Re: Rakim
Personally, I think KRS-ONE is the GOAT, but Rakim is in the discussion.
The entire Paid In Full Album is incredible, one of the top 3-4 albums of all time. My melody may be the greatest single hip hop cut in hisory, and I Aint No Joke, Eric B is Preisdnet, You Know I Got Soul, etcetcetc This is an album, one of the rare ones, that u never have to rewind or ff. With the possible exception of the instrumental "Chinese Arithmetic". |
