Default What\'s your line when blind steals flop good?

Villain is 48/14/1.45 over 100 hands.

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
3 folds, Hero raises, BB calls.

Flop: (4 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB folds.

Final Pot: 2.50 BB

I'm not sure what to do when you hit a flop like this and the villain isn't aggressive. I usually just fire away, since both of us know I was trying to steal and checking probably looks more suspicious than betting. So do you usually bet and hope BB picked up a hand or wants to defend with ace high? Or do you take a different line?

Perfect. Either he has something he'll call you with, or checking isn't going to buy you much unless he sucks out.

he expects you to bet, so do it.

If I'm villain and you check, i say "nice JJ" and open fold.

Gotta bet. If he folds, oh well. He's passive though, so he may call, right?

Not that people are observant, but if they were, checking this on the flop ans showing it down would probably be bad for your image.

OT: What are you in grad school for SoCal? Just curious.

lol J5? Certainly not against a 50 VPiP guy. This is a clear flop bet because people peel tons of stuff in this spot. You got unlucky and he folded. It won't happen that often.

Alright, just making sure I wasn't screwing up since this has been happeing a lot recently. Checking was starting to sound tempting.

Leader - he didn't like to defend.

jake - masters for mechanical engineering. Classes are done, I just need to write my thesis. And i hate it.

It's still a decent stretch, IMO. This type of hand has a lot of RIO. You have to make you for that by making him fold more then he should.

RIO?

And yeah, I get it. No more stealing with J5. But my att. to steal percentage is too low right now as it is.
