Default Swings. . . WTF

Are 7.5 BI swings normal? It's the first big loss I've had since I started trying to play (about 2 weeks) seriously. Am I defunct? WTF, does anyone have any advice? I read the forum a lot and I'm not an idiot, I just feel like I can't win. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

40k+ breakeven swing is not uncommon for the very good players.

10 buyin swings are normal every 5-10k hands for good players.

Note that I'm talking about good players, it's very possible you are a loosing player (most likely) and obviously for loosing players it's not really a 'swing' but more natural results because they play bad and therefore are loosing

40k hands and breaking even? Is that what you mean?

Also, in typical losing players' games, where are the biggest leaks found? I ask so that I might assess my game/look for similar leaks and maybe get help from others here at 2p2.

Here's a really helpful thread for finding leaks, and overall improving your game play.

Swongs, they are one thing.
7.5 BI happens. It hurts, but it's normal.

It probably means you just aren't that good, honestly. The closer you are to break-even (or losing player), the bigger and more frequent these bad stretches are.

If you're serious about improving, go through your database, get the 4 or 5 biggest pots you lost in this stretch, and post them here and we can go through them for leaks.

I had exactly one 7.5 buy-in swing when I played .05/.10 NL (I grinded this level out until I had $1500 so it took awhile). At that level it shouldn't be that common. Post some hands as has been suggested and perhaps even post your stats over your entire run thus far, not just the latest losing streak.

I can tell you that it does happen. One time I dropped 4 buy-ins in about 20 minutes. The average lead I had on my opponents was about 80% everytime I put my money in during this crazy 20 minutes. So yeah, 7.5 BI can happen, even too good players.

I would say about 6-8 buyins swings are normal.

But at the low levels, you shouldn't have swings at all because there are so many donks who just pay off every single top pair you flop that you cannot run bad unless you are a bad poker player.

Ok, I'm going to post some hands in this thread, as well as the stats, later tonight. Right now, I'm off to work.

Analyze every single hand where you lost more than 2.5$, and this was probably you last big downswing at NL10. (Yes they happen sometimes but not that often)
