I'm squarely in the "took a while" camp for YHF. I was really into Being There and Summerteeth for the better part of the late 90s/early 00s, and YHF was a pretty big departure from that stuff. Now it's probably either my favorite Wilco album or second only to Summerteeth, idk.

Modern Times. Thought it was some of the most boring monontone stuff Dylan had done in years. It now features some of my favourite songs.

Dillinger Escape Plan, Aphex Twin, and Squarepusher. All of them were too chaotic to me when I first heard them but I learned to appreciate the order amidst chaos.
