If you're interested in this stuff, there's a good novel to read- Pattern Recognition by William Gibson- it's about a viral film spreading through the internet, and all about corporate branding and style.

This was one of the better Gibson books I've read since Neuromancer but it still leaves quite a bit to be desired. Talk about anticlimax.

Any more details on that? People just leave miniature model horses sitting around on sidewalks?

Yeah, I'm curious about these as well. Are they chained to those metal loops on the sidewalk? People actually leave them standing there unmolested?

I saw a news bit on this when I was living there last summer. The metal loops are apparently there from the time people travelled with horses. Their purpose is a place to tie your horse (or maybe they attached to something to which you tied your horse). People put the horses there as some sort of remindind us of our history deal.

In downtown NY (on Spring and W, Bdwy or Wooster) the splatter splattered a large Obey sign.

I see those things everywhere. One of them freaked me the hell out at night in a dark neighborhood... at first glance I thought it was a giant rat or something.

I think the metal loops built into the sidewalk are really cool. We have two in front of our house, and we had them at the house I grew up in as well.

Im going to start doing this when I move in a few months. Perhaps get a stencil of some design I choose cut out on cardboard and spray paint it random places. I like the horses idea.

When I was in dublin I saw "david bowie for pope" spraypainted at a few random spots. Heres a picture.

Horse Project

There are alot of local guerilla art projects in major cities all around the world, the rise of street art is simply a result of the graffiti movement.

I am partial to the Knitta Please Crew
