TP2K against strange read
Villain is 64/14/.56 after 48 hands. In one of the first few hands he played at the table, he open limped in the CO, I raised 5x, BB called, then villain went allin pf and ended up showing down J9o. This would seem to imply a maniac, but his stats and the rest of his play implied calling station. On to the hand...

Final Pot: $2.60 Just read the chapter in PNL about pot control so I was trying to focus on this. Hence the 1/2x flop bet on the uncoordinated board. I would have checked behind on turn if I had position, but since I was oop and he seemed to be a calling station I bet. Value bet river since I was oop and didn't want to lose value or have to fold to an all-in. I pretty much had to call there right? Thoughts would be much appreciated. |

Re: TP2K against strange read
What's the strange read? Also, your line looks fine but I'd probably bet a little more on the flop and turn to extract from a weaker ace. On the river you have to call since you're getting good odds.

Re: TP2K against strange read
Standard, I also like the turn bet OOP vs this villian.

Re: TP2K against strange read
- I raise to $0.10 or $0.12 PF against this guy OOP.
- Bet more on the flop, like $0.15. - As played, bet more on the turn. - As played, bet more on the river. Call a shove. I'm not to worried about pot control against a calling station like this. I'm trying to get it in here, you'll see worse aces a TON. |

Re: TP2K against strange read
Looks good imo, although I'd prefer a $0.10 raise pf, and about 3/4 of the pot on the flop. Betting half the pot offers villian excellent odds to call.

Re: TP2K against strange read
Of course he turned of Q6o. Yah, so shoulda been more concerned with betting for (more) value rather than pot control here since I was playing against a calling station.
Lesson learned. Thanks guys. |

Re: TP2K against strange read
just coz you've read about pot control doesn't mean you should use it here, the guy hasn't got a full stack, if i flop that with AQo then i'm looking to get his whole stack.
