Smoke em if you got em: AC is going 75% smoke free

The AC City Council was planning to outlaw smoking all all casinos (NJ is a smoke free state now with an exception carved out for Casinos), but thanks to a last minute compromise it looks like smoking would be banned on only 75 percent of each casino's gaming floor. The remaining 25 percent must be walled off and equipped with powerful ventilation systems to suck smoke out of the air.

Las Vegas are you listening? NYC learned that it's restaurants and bar business increased once smoking was banned contrary to popular opinion.

What i'm really interested is if there will be any gambling inside the designated smoking rooms.

They should make plexi-boxes like in McCarran with slots or maybe two table games. Those things always remind me of being at the zoo and watching animals through the glass.

The whole idea is gonna be painful to enforce. Everytime I remember being at Borgata when the poker room was downstairs somebody was always gettin yelled at for sparking up.

I can only confirm this. I belive Sweden started the trend in europe with the same result. Denmark is close to follow, only a matter of time before the rest does the same

McCarren doesn't allow smoking in those glass boxes anymore.

If you can't smoke in a casino, where can you smoke? I don't smoke but I think that casinos should be one of the few places where smoking is allowed.

As far as I know smoking in public outdoor areas is still legal in Atlantic City - as opposed to New York city, where smoking is banned in public parks and recreation areas.
