Getting a new laptop: question about my monitor set up.
I'm getting this laptop, which has a Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT Graphics with 512MB DDR3 Video Memory card.
I have 2 questions: 1) Will this card support a dual-link DVI monitor (the 30" 2560x1600 Dell monitor)? I googled the laptop's video card and it says that particular video card has dual-link DVI support, but I'm hesitant to make a purchase without somebody who actually knows about computer telling me my monitor will work with this laptop. 2) Is there any way to get this laptop connected to two monitors? I want to hook it up to the Dell 30" and to my 1680 x 1050 Samsung Synchmaster monitor. My desktop has two ports for monitor cables: would it be possible to get a laptop with two ports also? If it's not possible to do that for this laptop, does anybody know of any non-Mac laptops w/1920x resolution that can connect to my two monitors? Thanks for any help, I'm really clueless about all this. |

Re: Getting a new laptop: question about my monitor set up.
1) Yes, it was confirmed in notebookforums.com, you can search google for those threads using the model #.
2) No, not without some external device. I've never heard of a laptop with two video-out ports of any kind (they might exist, but unlikely). |

Re: Getting a new laptop: question about my monitor set up.
lots of dells have two inputs, but dont have the capabilities to run a 30" monitor and another monitor. I asked this to dell tech support and he said this isnt even close to possible.
