Playing Small PPs

How should I play my small pocket pairs. More specifically, blinds are 75/150. I usually just bet 450 and hope to steal. Assuming 6 players left, average stack (2500) and no one in the pot before me. This can be any position in my opinion since at this level it's fold or call to this raise unless an opponent is holding a higher PP.
