Low point in poker for me
Last Sunday night after dinner the wife decides we're going out for a drink and dessert. We go to a local sports bar. She gets a Mojito and I get a MGD and we share an apple something with ice cream.
There just happens to be a NLHE bar tournament there that night and it's about to start after we finished the dessert. So I decide to play both the 7 and 10PM tournaments. She goes home and waits for me to call to pick me up. OMG. The worst players ever I don't mean this in a "I wish they were at Canterbury so I could clean up on them" way. I mean they were just horrible. The 7PM one was just for points and it was the end of their "season" so it didn't matter. 10PM they had 2 tables for points players and also one table for a gift card. So I played for the gc. Earlier in the day I cashed 8th at Canterbury in the $440 monthly tournament (had small pocket pair all in preflop vs A10--A on the turn). So playing against a bunch of drunk cornballs blowed. No more bar donkaments again. |

Re: Low point in poker for me
Ice cream and beer eaten at the same time is utterly disgusting.

If the avatar picture is you, wearing the sunglasses indoors for that photo to be taken (along with the WPT jacket) was the low point in poker/life for you.

Re: Low point in poker for me
Speaking as a women who takes a back seat to poker occasionally, your priorities seem a little skewed here.
"Honey - I am gonna stay here and play in a worthless tournament - you shoot along now, and I will call you in the middle of the night to act as a taxi service. Oh yeah.... I may want to SIIYP when I come home!" You sound like a keeper hun! |

Yeah, no [censored] this was a low point. You skipped having sex with your wife so you could play in not one, but two completely worthless tournaments.

Fold pre-game [/ QUOTE ] Good advice. Also, what the hell were you thinking? Poker is not a game to be played for fun. Or giftcards, for that matter. Wife is cool, if it's any consolation, but I'm sure you already knew that. |
