New to Omaha - a few questions. Thanks.
I was at Bally's in Atlantic City on Thursday - and found a 5/10 game of Omaha high going on. First time at that casino. Monday (yesterday) they had a 3/6 game for a while.
I've been playing stud and Hold 'em, but could clearly use some Omaha advice. What is a good book (I have the Super System ones) on Omaha high? What is a good list of starting hands? Should hands like A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] be played? Or am I too loose in opening these? Seems like I got rivered a lot - is that normal in Omaha? Moreso, I mean, than in stud and Hold 'em? Or a sign that I'm chasing too many hands? What is generally a winning hand in this game? I mean, does a good 2 pair often win? Or does one need (it seems like it to me, based on very limited experience) a straight or better? So many questions! Thanks in advance for the advice. Anything you can give in the way of help would be appreciated. Lee |
