Default 2+2 Fantasy Football

I know this is the wrong forum, but it will get by far the most replies here.

I am starting a fantasy football league for 2+2. Buy in will be 1k (would like to up the buy in if we get enough interest). We would also need a mod/really well respected poster to escrow.

I set a draft time which will likley be changed once we figure out when everyone's free time is. The only thing I want is for the draft to happen after all the preseason games, as to avoid injury variance as much as possible, as well as get a better feel about position battles/depth chart.

I added individual defenders instead of team defenses because I think it's a lot cooler to get to pick individual defenders.

I also changed the point system from Yahoo because the Yahoo one flat out sucks and was clearly made by people with no clue about football. So here is mine (suggestions are always welcome).

Passing TD's = 3.5 points
INT's = -3 points
Sacks = -1.5 points
Passing Yards = 15 yards = 1 point

Rushing TD's = 3 Points
Rushing Yards = 10 Yards = 1 point

Reception TD's = 4 Points
Reception Yards = 8 Yards = 1 point

Fumbles = -2 Points

Field Goals 0-19 Yards = 3 Points
Field Goals 20-29 Yards = 3 Points
Field Goals 30-39 Yards = 3.5 Points
Field Goals 40-49 Yards = 4 Points
Field Goals 50+ Yards = 5 Points
Field Goals Missed 0-19 Yards = -4 Points
Field Goals Missed 20-29 Yards = -4 Points
Field Goals Missed 30-39 Yards = -3.5 Points
Field Goals Missed 40-49 Yards = -3 Points
Field Goals Missed 50+ Yards = -2 Points
Point After Attempt Made = 1 Point
Point After Attempt Missed = -2 Points

Tackle Solo = 1 Point
Tackle Assist = 1 Point
Sack = 3 Points
INT = 5 Points
Fumble Force = 5 Points
Fumble Recovery = 3 Points
TD = 3 Points
Saftey = 2 Points
Pass Defended = 2.5 Points
Block Kick = 4 Points

Here are the Roster Positions:

QB (2)
WR (2)
RB (2)
TE (1)
WR/TE (1)
K (1)
DB (2)
DL/LB (4)
Bench (8)

I also am using a point system instead of Head to Head which i'm sure some people won't like, but the reason I did so is because a Point System determines the actual winner instead of who got the luckiest draw/playoff run. Head to Head is obv a cool idea but in my opinion it just does not work real well because the playoff/superbowl games come when teams are resting their players, players who are slightly injured and could play if it was a playoff/superbowl game are resting etc.

The league is open to 12 people max, so if you want in say so in this thread. The first 12 people to respond will get the rights to the spots, and others after that will become alternites which will only be allowed in if some people drop out.

If you are interested respond here for the link to the webpage so you can verify/check it out. You are also able to sort out last years points (although it does not take into consideration of lack of games played by injured players) so you can see it's all straight. QB's and RB's still are the best position, but I evened it out so WR's and defense actually mean something.

Oh yeah the payout structure is as follows:

1st Place 50 Percent of prize pool
2nd Place 30 Percent of prize pool
3rd Place 20 Percent of prize pool

We also might need to take a tiny bit out of the prize pool for an escrow.

If you're using that argument, wouldn't an auction be "fairer" than a draft?

"But the real NFL drafts!" But the real NFL plays head-to-head.

Just an idea. I would think the most "skillful" league would be auction-based, with the standings based completely on points. Though points-based standings can be very anti-climatic if a team jumps out to a big lead.

I'd be down to do it auction-based if everyone else is (which I have a feeling they won't be).

BTW we will have to find a way to randomly determine the draft order, so suggestions are welcome.

I like that it is draft based

I like that it is strictly standings/points based

I'm in for 1k depending on number of teams/time of draft (and can we lose individual defensive players and go team D please)

I do think the rules/scoring are a bit non-standard, but it is ok

id prolly be in, why the severe underrating of the QB position? with only 3.5 for TD and -3 for INTs, i would imagine a lot off QBs end up around 0 if not negative....especially being forced to use two QBs, the second one must be relatively worthless most weeks
