Go to bar and watch it and quit crying.

I often do, but its without a doubt killing the IU football team's chance to build its fanbase. People here haven't really started a big stink about it yet, its just been minor grumbling. Once basketball season hits it'll become a much bigger deal.

Have fun with him for one year while I watch my mediocre Illini flounder around. At least our players only drive drunk and nearly kill their teammates

I didn't even get season tickets this year in protest - thank you BTN now I won't even be tempted to watch the games on TV because I wouldn't be able to watch them in my apt. anyway.

It's ironic. Everybody is frustrated that they don't have it and miss their games. However, I have it and PSU football games are almost never on the BTN. They're pretty much always on ESPN/ABC.

The games that are not on TV for normal residents around the U of I campus were not on TV at the bars AFAIK.

I'm not crying over a missed football game, trust me. I think my point was about the fans who either don't want to go to a bar or don't care enough to change cable networks, or pay extra. These people have to make up a sizeable percentage of college football watchers. Not necessarily anyone hanging out in this forum, but quite a few I suspect.

This has been very popular here. We have an Alumni Association Club that meets at bar to watch the games. Last year, the crap games it was easy to get a seat. Of course, for the Michigan game, it was packed 2 hours before the game (even with extra tables and chairs brought in.

This year, I got to the Youngstown St. - Ohio State game (B10 Network). I got to the bar at 1050, and the bar was already completely full, and I had to watch outside. It's made a huge difference. B10 Network games have had a huge crowed at the bar (even at 11AM when its typically not as crowded).

The BTN is asking for the second highest rights fee in the country after ESPN for a station that practically no one will watch outside of football gamedays. I think the cable companies should tell them to take a hike as well. That said, because of the BTN, I've only been able to watch one Northwestern game this year. Same here. I used to be able to watch 5-6 Indiana games per season simply because of who they were playing. This year, I'm pretty much shut out.
