Default Multimonitor problems

Hey. I have been using two crt monitors in dualview, but recently wanted to upgrade. I bought 1 Gateway fpd1975W, and ran the multiple display with the gateway and 1 crt, but the crt looked so stupid next to my new nice monitor i decided i needed two gateways. I bought a new video card installed both monitors and was working great until i noticed a pixel was dead. I took the monitor back but after replacing it I noticed my Nvidia Control panel(Nvidia 8500)was not recognizing the displays as two widescreen monitors but as one widescreen monitor and and one analog(crt??) monitor. I cannot adjust the the resolution correctly on my secondary monitor. It only gives me traditional options, not widescreen options. I have ran all the windows troubleshooting and googled for days but i cannot solve the problem. Help!! Anyone got any ideas???? ty in advance.

I got a notification on this post, probably because it's one huge tangled paragraph. But it's also in the wrong forum, so I'll move it to CTH.
