short game <75 yards and chipping is my strong point of my game. im not sure that throwing would ever fit in for me besides the obvious throw option from the green side bunker.

Can't throw, I mean really can't throw. I don't throw like a girl, that would insult girls. I am so bad at throwing that when I drop a ball I have to be on my knees, otherwise the ball will not reach the ground.

Green side bunkers would be a help but that is it. It would give more control even when my bunker play is at its best.

I highly doubt anyone's short game is that good, that throwing wouldnt be easier than shooting with a club.

I would use it on any shot inside of 50 yards and outside of 40 feet or so. Anybody outside of Tour quality golfers can't chip as well as they can throw.

Having almost no practice throwing golf balls, and having played thousands and thousands of rounds of golf. If I had the option of throwing in my round today, I may do it 1 or 2 times (bad lies, being shortsided, buried in bunker, etc).

I guess if I practiced tossing golf balls for a while, the # would be greater.

I think I agree. Most shots from <40y I think I'd do better with my clubs than throwing unless there was a problem with the lie, or it was a really difficult shot that didn't have much margin for error.

I'm around a 25 or so and I would bet that I could shoot under 80 at most of the courses I play given unlimited throws.

My guess would be well over 100. It really dependent on the length of the course. I don't know the farthest I could throw the ball but I doubt I could consistently average more than 70 yards or so. It's also very likely there would be a forced carry somewhere that I would have to go around in some stupid way.
