Re: 3/6 How is this line?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I was actually villian in this hand and not hero. [/ QUOTE ] Why did you post it then? [/ QUOTE ]I wanted to see if raising in Heros position with AJs was standard or foolish given the board. I have been noticing lately that players with very tight stats have been raising, 3-betting, and capping me with just a gut shot, or sometimes completely nothing. So I posted a hand with villian and hero reversed to see if people liked/disliked my opponents line. The opponent's states were solid, if people thought he was crazy, then I must be doing something to have a bad table image. If people (read "more experienced players") thought the line was good, then I really need to change my game. |

[/ QUOTE ] Realize that this sort of play has nothing to do with "tightness." In fact, many break-even/slightly winning low limit players achieve that level by playing both too tight AND too aggressive--they push their few "good" hands way to far, trying to muscle you out of pots in hopeless situations. In fact, I used to do this a lot as a beginning player. All I had gleaned from the couple of books I had read was to be tight and aggressive, which at the time I thought meant betting AK three times unimproved into five players playing $1-$3. |

Re: 3/6 How is this line?
How do you adjust to people who are maniacs against you but not to the rest of the table?
Do you think that I might have a bad table image? (Should I even consider my table image at 3/6?) On this hand I was trying to play back at somebody who was betting every single pot we played together. I had JTs and made the nuts on the turn. I don't see anything good about my play of the hand (except betting when I made the nuts). |
