Video always goes to full screen in dual monitor setup

I have an extra monitor connected to my laptop. It's set up so that my desktop is extended across both monitors. The problem is every time I open a video file my secondary monitor automatically plays the video in full screen. I can resize the video on the primary screen but I can't adjust it on the secodary monitor where its stuck on full screen. There's probably a simple fix to turn off this freature but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I have an nvidia video card. Google and 2p2 search wasn't any help. So does anyone here know how to change this?
