Helmet wouldn't have done anything. Autopsy revealed that he died from a ruptured artery in his neck (where the ball hit him). Unless he was wearing a suit of armor, he still would've died.

I just heard Asahina was the first base coach for Tuesday's game at Wichita.

Also, Tino Sanchez, the player who hit the ball that killed Coolbaugh, is in Puerto Rico for the birth of his child. He isn't supposed to be back with the team for a week.
