Re: Where are the poker gods?
"Bad beats" happen and you should be happy to see them. Without bad beats, you'd never win. Also, did you have a reason you wanted to call preflop with that junk? Being results oriented will ruin you.

Re: Where are the poker gods?
Its 50/50 pre flop. And you got it in as a 65/35 fav, theres not much more you can do right in this hand except close your eyes and hope to win. The poker gods have nothing to do with this hand you just got unlucky.

Re: Where are the poker gods?
There are no poker Gods. There is no such thing as luck. What there is is probability. As previously stated you're odds weren't that well off here anyway.
Your goal is to make correct decisions--forget about trying to win money. Make correct decisions. What you want to do is make a lot of break even bets or bets that show a small profit throught a session. You want to keep yourself in a position to keep playing and get paid off when you hit a 22-to-1 shot. You don't want to risk your future ability to make momey on a 2-to-1 proposition. |

Also, did you have a reason you wanted to call preflop with that junk? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, it was a super loose aggressive table with people raising any 2 cards and calling down with anything, my implied odds were massive if i hit! Anyway, was just gutted i put him all in and he called with ace high... |

Re: Where are the poker gods?
first, QJ offsuit facing a raise and a call
fold preflop....... the guy that raise may have any two card, but the guy that call, definely has something. I know exactly how you feel, one of the thing i find it hardest to play. a Donkey push all his chip in with Air, and you have a big hand sitting. you can't fold. and he got lucky and take your stack..... |

Re: Where are the poker gods?
But just think... those days where he shoves with nothing, and your hand actually wins... those are the rewarding days of playing like you should. Donk is suffering more than benefiting from that kind of play

Sure i understand poker is one long session so worry about correct decisions, as i happens it was that kind of game where you need to see flops, the guy in hand was raising like a maniac, i couldnt give him any credit... |
