oh, my bad, I got the impression from Luego's well thread that you were like 20/16.

Yeah, I guess I see guys occasionally that shove over c-bets in three bet pots and don't know how I could ever be that guy. Deep down, I'm a total nit when it comes to playing for stacks. I'm much more about implying that I'm playing for stacks. On what frequency is it really needed to beat higher stakes?

FWIW, I do think I'm ok at noticing the adjustments that people are making against me within the span of one session, if it's someone who I'm concerned about, though, from a theoretical standpoint, you really don't need to against a 'regular' as every hand you play against that person forever is really just one long session, right?

ya i meant luego's postflop stats. anyway, as far as noticing adjustments, i didnt mean that you personally wont capable of noticing but that its impossible to know for sure if they have tightened up or are just getting [censored] cards for an hour; if they have loosened up or are running hot PF etc.

Geez long thread...GRUNCH!!

22/55 I fold.
88/KQo I call.
JTs I 3bet.
A6s I fold.

Asumming I played as above and flop comes A83r
22/55 it depends on the BTN player...but I guess I c/f, c/c, and c/r depending on how I feel.
88 I c/r
KQ it depends on how I feel, sometimes donking and sometimes c/f
TJs I 3bet and its a good flop for me so I'll cbet
A6s I folded, but Id check if I had called.

Assuming 3-bet (it depends on villains calling range, but whatever)
22/55 meh, cbet sometimes, c/f sometimes
88 cbet
KQ cbet or c/f
TJs same as above
A6 gross

ninja grunch/bump:

22/55 - mostly fold
88/KQ/JTs - mostly rr
A6 - mix of fold/call/raise

cbet all but sometimes check TP.

with the game i play in, i call 22/55/88 and 3-bet jts/kq/a6s (though calling can be acceptable).

on stars, i 3-bet nearly all, sometimes calling 88.

i bet all on the flop except 88/A6s.

edit: i was confused on the post.

hey guys, interesting thread for a NL noob (me). I play on stars - why is 3 betting preferred- tighter games, more fold equity?

orange, and also OP i think, say they'd c-bet all but 88 and A6, theyre only made hands. isnt this too transparent?

as for the thread, perhaps many have the correct answers, but where is the reasoning!? everyone says what they would do, w/o any compelling reasons. well, ill read the rest of thread- maybe someone will provide some justification! as a relative novice learning NL, i guess i could just do what everyone says to- but id rather understand if/why it's correct!
