Re: Which flop you want?
ehh i think i get it now. Terp perhaps you meant that these opponents are not gonna be valuebetting less than QJ and may miss value with hands that are marginally better than ours such as KQ, so that makes the qj more valuable than it should be in a similar spot against much more competent opponents who will use their position and aggressiveness to make playing top pair painful for us. If thats what you meant then i agree and changes the generic notion of 'the oesd is more valuable the deeper we are'

Re: Which flop you want?
One big problem with the Q73 flop is that when we get action, we're often behind. Fortunately, we can get away if raised, but it's not like we can take these guys to value town terribly often.

Re: Which flop you want?
mustmuck- Sorry. I will clarify that, as I see the confusion. They are 'weak tight' in the sense that they miss value on their hands often. When in a pot they are more on the passive side. They will pay off thin. They don't often bet thin. I definitely should not have used TAG in their description. Though when I was thinking of their play I remembered they were typical when they had the lead in their TAG type ranges and c-bet type aggro ways. Hope that helps with the description.
Also, yes this is live and I can't believe I forgot to put that in. |

Re: Which flop you want?
Jim- Its Q75r. Not sure how much of difference that makes it for you. It does add a very important SD with 86 and whole new set of cards that have gutters fwiw.

Re: Which flop you want?
Doesn't look like the Q75 board ever has the potential to win you a big pot, and we're playing for stacks of 150 BB's. Your OESD can be fairly well concealed if you play it right, and stands a better chance of getting paid off. I vote KT here.

Re: Which flop you want?
I say KT. We take it down with a cb often enough and have good outs.
Q73 we usually take it down but if we get raised or called we might be in trouble. |

Re: Which flop you want?
Do you not think you are in trouble if your cbet on the KT3 board gets raised??
Are we comfortable playing for stacks against this type of opponent/s. I feel if we b/3b the flop we will be if we plan on winning ever without showdown... And its a Q75 board. Adds some hands that may call and we ahead of. May make a difference in your equity calculations. |
