Amazing show I love it. I should really read the books as well. I thought the part in the previews when he was saying in his mind "i will not kill deb, i will not kill deb..." was pretty funny.

Episode 2 is really good.
I have heard really mixed reviews from the books, most of them being negative so I haven't bothered reading them.

Good first episode. I agree that Dexter's sister is a terrible actress. She's hot, but I still find her poor acting to be a distraction.

Rita's ass is spectacular.

I remember reading on here that season 2 isn't based on any one book in particular, it just uses the characters from the books. Is this true? I haven't read any of the books.

They are based on the books, but like any decent adaptation it isn't the same.

I just watched it last night (DVR) and was somewhat underwhelmed. I'm not saying it wasn't good, because even a below avg Dexter is better that 95% of all other shows on TV, but it was so different from last year. I liked the perfect Dexter, not the one that is falling apart.

I thought the first episode of season 1 was awful, then it got better. This season will probably follow the same format.

The first episode of season 1 got me hooked, and the rest of the season continued to just get better and better after each episode.

I thought episode 1 of season 2 was not as good as most of last season's episode's, but I think it is setting us up for some absoutely mind-blowing episodes this season. I am by no means complaining, even a below-average episode of dexter is better just about everything else out there. Overall, I thought the premiere was solid and we are in for another great season!

The first couple of episodes have been illegally (not sure but some hotels have had them for a while, Sheraton) put online. I won't say where but I've seen the first couple of episodes.
