To see questionable put-villain-on-the-only-hand-you-can-beat-then-call David Williams poker:

Poker to Watch
Click on the June 27th tab, third hand down "Bob Bright vs. David Williams."

gotta love the female accouncer: "he's probably going to pop it up pretty big on the turn to see where hes at, cause he likes to gamble"

Williams calls when the only hands he can beat are a semi bluff or QT, and when QT is virtually impossible given DH's flop play.

You know poker good. Williams called when essentially ALL he could beat was a bluff, and you fault Harrington for the play.

[/ QUOTE ]

D. Williams bets into 4 opponents, how much fold equity do you think DH has?

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow. The way the preflop and flop action went, KQ is the top candidate in the range of hands, I'd say.

And it's really only ahead of a bluff and QT.

I'd say Williams can figure this out, and can figure out that Harrington can figure it out too.

Harrington has enough fold equity and a big enough draw to make this play nowhere near definitively incorrect.

Certainly worth discussion, but not remotely laughable.

I cant figure out why anyone is even arguing with this either but I find it awesome people are so clueless in hands to think David played this well.

Yea, I play poker. You think betting 15k into 6k on the turn when the worst card in the deck falls is a +ev line?

[/ QUOTE ]

wouldn't a Q be worse?

I hate to defend the OP, but, uh...no, it wouldn't.

Obviously, the Q on the turn makes it easier to slow down and not make the (ultimately) fatal semi-bluff.

The jack is an easy card to make this play at an utg flop bettor.

Dan Harrington , the legend. Check out his flop and turn line here......Why do we buy his books again? This makes Jennifer Tillys check behind with the 2nd nut boat not look so bad, lol.

The fact that you would compare this play to Tilly's utterly moronic play tells me you'll be a poker theorist to be reckoned with, as soon as the rest of the world catches up with your acumen.

Williams was just calling hoping he was not beat. Harrington made all the right plays and lost. You are right Dave, this guy is a moron. Open end straight and King high flush draw, how do you not raise?

Thanks Tim. I always like it when someone of your stature and erudition agrees with my assessment that a poster is a moron.

Anyway, I hope to be back at the tables soon.
