Re: Anyone into scanning/monitoring

I don't even know if you can monitor cell calls easily anymore... I was under the impression that you'd have to know what algorithms were being used the split the signal and have the scanner reassemble them. It's not like in 1985-2000 when everything was analog [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, analog was easy and the number of people with analog cell phones and analog cordless phones in thier homes is just dropping off to where that isnt that much traffic anymore. If you were living in a more rural small city, could still have some fun with that I am sure. |

Re: Anyone into scanning/monitoring
I think CDMA and other multiplexing technologies would make scanning for cell-phone calls extremely difficult if not impossible.

[ QUOTE ] ...that will actually be very useful. [/ QUOTE ] Please elaborate. I'm assuming you wouldn't post about it if you planned to use it for illegitimate purposes, so I really am curious. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Anyone into scanning/monitoring
Listening in on peoples phone calls is weird and really pathetic. I hope you guys are not using it for that purpose. Police radios I can understand, but neighbours phone calls is just sad
