Default Hand Against the Beale

Playing against Howard. Howard only plays AK or better. He knows I am going out of my way to beat him in a hand.

He raises and middle position with a twinkle in his eye. fold to me in the BB with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Flop is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I donk . . . and ask Howard politely to raise. He calls. This scares me.

Plan for the rest of the hand assuming I don't turn the virtual nuts?

lol

There are so few holdings you have to worry about. He's probably just peeling here.

But Even if he has 77 the hand plays itself almost the same as vs AA.

Howard's a weak tighty. 3-bet preflop to increase fold equity!

Seriously though, I like how this hand is played so far.
Your attempt to bet/3town the flop is sexy. This board is drawy and your holdings are unknown so Howard should rarely have an overpair here. Bet almost all turns and your river action should depend on what the turn card is.

I like how this is going so far. What to do, what to do? Plus, it's 'weird' that such a nice fellow wants my head as a trophy (as if he wasn't winning enough already!)

ps: Only plays AK or better. As if. I REALLY wish you'd been around a few more hours when the game got insane.

I left partly because those two kids to my left were just too annoying to play with. Although thehy were spewing money.

Really about the overpair? You think he flat calls with high-bags? I think he either snap raises or folds to my donk bet with AK.

Fire away. I only play AK or better also. Just ask Howard Beale. I might be coming back soon if I can ever get out of new york lol.

He is more likely to raise overpairs than overcards. He should read your bet as an attempt to 3-bet, esp. if he knows who you are.
