Dell XPS m1330

So I configured and ordered a Dell XPS m1330. Which I was pretty psyched about.

But the ship date they're estimating is 9/4/2007. That seems really lame. I called and talked to them and was told that the thin/light LCD is showing up as the main reason for the delay. And I don't want to change to the cheaper/inferior display option.

So a couple questions:

I know that their ship date estimates tend to be very conservative. And I know that it's impossible to really know what will happen. Do you think it will really take until 9/4 for them to ship this?

I can still cancel the order. What similar laptops (from any producer) could I consider?

15in Macbook Pro, but im surprised the ship date is that late for the dell. hmmmm

I would wait for that laptop.

I have the slightly older version of that (the 1210) and I absolutely love it.

The reviews are fantastic, it looks super. I can't believe it will take almost two months, though.

And of course they charged my CC already.

I doubt it will actually take 2 months. The screen is worth it if it does. Ask them for a concession coupon for the inconvenience.
