Default 100NL I makes a play

Alright main villain (button) is tight 13/11/2/100
Other villain is loose, maybe 35 vpip Im lazy to look up.

My thoughts: flop is checked, button probably doesn't have an ace or he would have bet. SB might be trying a check raise, we'll see what happens.
On the turn, my thoughts are: probably no one has a hand, but if I bet I'll be vulnerable so let's check; button will probably bet trying to steal the pot, so if SB folds I can raise him and take his money. Sounds good? I think $18 is enough here, it's not like that nit is gonna 3rd level me.

i would have taken my shot at the pot on the flop. not sure what you're trying to represent by c/r the turn, an A in not really believable.

I agree that my bet is that believable, but what can villain really do about it? I don't think any villain reraises with less than an A here. My bet is not believable, but his isn't either...
Also I don't like betting the flop here because an ace has likely hit their range... After the flop I'm more confident that they likely don't have it...

i might have checked the flop too, but what i was trying to say was that if you wanna win the pot...betting the flop is better than raising the turn. it's just a hard sell for me to believe you have an A here since you checked the flop, and i think you get looked up by a J here a lot because of this.

ya, I agree that a thinking player with a jack would call me here. However I only have to win this 50% of the time to have a direct profit, and I also have a gutshot with 3 clean outs. But mostly I think that alot of the time villain is just taking a stab with air here.

doesnt make much sense. i would guess that you would be the flop with any made hand. hopefully villan doesnt think much. turn, seems like your just making a move without having much thought into it (i do it alot as well).
