Re: Let\'s Talk CAZ
[ QUOTE ]
I wonder why a room would offer both 6/12 and 8/16 games, and then nothing else lower than 20/40? Seems like it would make more sense to change the 8/16 to 10/20 or maybe 12/24. [/ QUOTE ] well the games are kill, so that helps a bit. |

Re: Let\'s Talk CAZ
[ QUOTE ]
To the poster who wondered about the 6-12 and 8-16: Up until a few years ago there was 6-12 and 10-20. In my experience 10-20 is always the worst game in the house unless it's the biggest spread because of the 2/4 chip structure. Once they tried the 8/16 w/ it's 4/8 chip structure it killed the 10-20 dead. Thank goodness. There is no 15-30 HE because they decided from day 1 not to have it and they've never changed their minds. Probably not enough players to support both a 15 and a 20 anyway. [/ QUOTE ] I think I have heard others say they don't think 10/20 is a good game structure either, but never sure completely why. I have heard some people say that the 9/18 is better in CA because the more chips make more action. If so, CAZ could have a 9/18 or 12/24 game with $3 chips. I did just play 10/20 for the first time last weekend at Borgata in Atlantic City. Not as much action as at smaller tables of course, but still a fine game, and better than I expected it to be. It was not the biggest game in the house either, there were several 20/40 tables and a few larger than that. Rob |

Re: Let\'s Talk CAZ
They used to try and run a 10/20 down here in Tucson that would go, oh maybe two - three times a week and be a fairly low action passive game.
Once they changed the structure to 8/16 the game runs every day with tons and tons of action (can be $1000 either way, no problem) and when people ask about changing to a 10/20 most of the regualrs comment that is kills the action when the red chips go on the table. Im going to trek up to CAZ today, look for me in a MN Twins bbcap and a black polo shirt sitting in the 8/16 or 20/40 game. Thanks for everyone's help. |
