Default I flop a monster and don\'t get paid

Everyone in this hand but me is a typical Commerce 20/40 retard. (50%-80% VPIP, passive). I'm an atypical Commerce retard running incredibly bad.

Commerce 20/40 Saturday night

UTG limps, UTG+1 limps, UTG+2 limps, CO limps, button limps, I complete SB with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB checks.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+ calls, others fold, I call.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 raises, I muck.

Terrible or terribly awesome?

Having logged so many hours in the Commerce 20 game, I can say with a high degree of certainty that your flop play is disgusting.

Seriously. Check-calling a flop where you trip up? Start talking, and fast.

Bet the flop! You KNOW everyone peels these flops with overs and even unders (hey, 67s has two backdoor draws). Just bet it out. Having checked, you got the best possible result with the person on your left betting and collecting several calls. You really really really need to raise at this point and take 4 more chips from each of their stacks.

Just calling is absurd. Then you check the turn again. To be honest I don't think this is a horrible fold since most of those people are so dumbly passive that a turn raise is not 98 as often as it is a better 3 (or 99/88), so you probably made an okay play there (even though you've underrepresented your hand so atrociously that you might have to call down now).

I played the Commerce 20 on Friday night and had 94o in the BB and saw a free flop multiway. It was 442. I bet out, everyone called, the button raised, I 3-bet, couple people folded, couple people called. The button called my turn and river bet too. She seemed surprised when I turned over a 4.

mistake #1: checking the flop.
mistake #2: calling the flop. that is TERRIBLE. there's a bet and callers and you're closing the action andyou just call? wtf?????????
mistake #3: folding the turn.

you played preflop well though

4 serious replies to what I thought was some kind of joke. And I'm still wondering if it's a joke. I must be missing something.

Well, on the flop I usually just fire, but in this particular case I was in the mood for a check-raise. Then, the dude right after me took a stab, and when I saw all those calls I got greedy and decided to C/R the turn instead.

Everyone here is so right tho, better to build the pot on the flop. This class of donks call 2,3, or four bets on the flop with utter refuse, and then always muck the turn for one bet.

After I confront the raise on the turn, I seriously thought my hand is [censored]. No joking.

PJ of course sniffed it out; he's played enough here to know. I showed my cards to my neighbor before mucking, and he gave me the 'WTF dude' look. UTG+2 gets called on river, shows T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

You assumed it wasnt soft? I am always alot more suprised if I find a semi-tough live 20 than I am finding a ridiculously soft one.
