One of my favorite authors. Can't feel too bad though. He certainly lived a long and productive life. Thanks for the link.

Liked the guy a lot, but aside from Cat's Cradle, all I read of his were essays and the odd short story, and some interviews. Still had to love him, though. Shame he's gone.

One of the most memorable things he wrote was in the sirens of titan, where he described a planet of slimy organisms that resided in caves, who only had two phrases in their vocabulary. The first was "I am here", and the second was "I'm glad you are here."
I wish the world was more like that.

You should read more of his books they all tie together real nicely. At a bare minimum read "Sirens of Titan" and "Slaughterhouse Five".
