need a good free antivirus. PC infected

Hello, I have a virus. I used AVG and he found one, but after I reboot, the virus is back ...
I used also a link " trend micro " with a free scan. I used it few month ago, and it was great, but it seems to not work properly now ...

If you have a good free antivirus to sugger me.

spybot search & destroy
lavasoft adaware
zonealarm

Else, I use Spybot. Lavasoft is not the same ? ( I don't know )
May be my question are all dumb, but each time I came here, I got some very good answers. I am confident to this forum.

To sum up, I wonder if Kapersky is free and better than AVV. And I wonder if Lavasoft make the same think as Spybot, if yes, is it better ?

Kaspersky has a free trial only. It is a pay-program. IMO, it is more effective than AVG and will get updated definitions sooner. AVG is pretty good tho.

Lavasoft makes Adaware, which performs the same function as Spybot Search and Destroy. Use both. Often one will catch something the other misses.
