Crosspost: Rebuy Strategy Question

I play in a home SNG style tourney...usually 8-12 people.

Start with T3000. 50/100 blinds. 20 minute levels.

You can rebuy during the first 3 levels anytime you fall below T2000.

When you rebuy you get T2000.

So my question is...does it make more sense to rebuy as soon as you fall below 2000, or should you wait until you go bust.

Also, you get one add on at the end of the rebuy period for 5,000 chips. That, of course, everybody takes.

Thoughts?
