If you bet, I really don't understand anything other than a shove. I think you guys are all nuts.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you trying to get him to fold an 8 or call with 77?

[/ QUOTE ]
If I'm trying to do either, I'd shove.

[/ QUOTE ]

SO you dont know what you are trying to accomplish with a shove you just know its right?

Good reading comprehension. Try reading the first word in the first post you quoted.

If you bet; do you mean that you'd rather check but if you bet it would be a shove whether its as a bluff or value dep. on opponent?

I'd shove. But I can see merit in checking against certain people. But I can't see merit in betting less than a shove given stack sizes. But I would have bet differently on earlier streets so that a shove wouldn't be an overbet here.

If you're going to bet any decent amount, then you should shove given the stack sizes against any reasonably thinking Villain. Unless Villain knows your game pretty well he probably thinks your range is polarized. Even if he calls a shove half as often as a ~200-ish bet, it's higher EV to shove. Against most villains I bet this river as villain would need to have severe FPS for checking to be profitable.

I sided with TWP and shoved. Booshiet took forever, then called with AJ.
