1.) that would be 100% wrong here
2.) we don't want him to fold AK... we are a coinflip for the whole hand, but not the flop
3.) we don't want over calls with QQ, more relevant if we had AA-KK
4.) maaaybe, but i don't see that in the villains 2 agg factor
5.) mixing it up to get respect for our overcalls??? i'm sorry, but that is a waste of time

most of the time smoothcalling preflop with QQ is only ok given frequent squeezers or some weird stack size situation. i dont see that here

[/ QUOTE ]

i actually really like calling pre, cos a 17/12 that raises the limper then gets 3-bet by the bb will have a redic tight calling range, and we'll be just like 'wtf?' the whole hand

[/ QUOTE ]
since when do nits autofold their entire open range to a 3bet? let me know where these guys are so i can abuse them

he's calling with 88+/AK, maybe AQ

[/ QUOTE ]

While I agree with almost all your posts, this simply just isn't true.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're right, his range is probably a lot wider because nits suck.

[/ QUOTE ]

What? They're probably not even iso'ing an UTG raiser in UTG+1 with much less than 88+ AK, AQ and i doubt theyre calling 3 bets with there entire range.

I've played a 17/13 type game, you're overestimating how tight it is.

I don't have pstove in front of me, but isn't top 10% of hands like... AA-88, AK-AJ, and maybe a couple broadway suited cards?

What do people think of check raising the river?

[/ QUOTE ]

this seems interesting. i would think that by betting the river we're trying to extract value from lower overpairs maybe AK, and maybe some 9x suited connector type hands. would these hands bet the river for value when checked to? I'm pretty sure an overpair does and maybe 9x, Ak doesnt. however i don't think any of those hands calls a river c/r anyway so we might as well just bet and let him call.
