Default Nintendo DS question

I am thinking of picking up a DS, but all I see everywhere are different colors of the DS Lite. Is there a more powerful DS regular or something, and the DS Lite is a scaled-down version? Or is DS Lite the only version they make?

The DS Lite is a more powerful version of the regular DS. It has longer battery life, brighter screen, more durable, and better stylus.

It is also much smaller and more comfortable!
I can't imagine anyone buying a regular DS anymore. The different colours of the DS Lite are purely cosmetic.

Thanks both of you! Just wanted to make sure I was buying the best version. I'll probably pick up a Lite in the next few days. Although I played some gameboy in the past, I have never actually played the DS or owned a handheld system before, although I have owned almost every console ever made.

You won't be disapointed. The DS is great. Check out Brain Age and Big Brain Academy for 2 games to dink around with whenever you have 5 minutes.
