Pre flop BB
General thoughts on any two suited cards in the BB for a raise in 6/12 - 15/30 Hold em....
Specific situation: 6/12 Live 8 handed Hero in BB w/ 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG Raises 3 callers, SB folds, Hero? |

Re: Pre flop BB
With 3 cold callers following an UTG raiser, I would call and see the flop.
Although you lack position, you have a few things going for a call. 1. Your implied odds are high (i.e., doubled since you're the big blind). 2. You should be able to narrow the range of UTG. 3. The pot is large (see #1). 4. If you flop a made hand or good draw, then you have outstanding position (being directly right of the PFR) upon which to make your flop decision. 4. |

Re: Pre flop BB
I have to say, it is the worst fold of my life.
The flop comes out 4 spade 6 spade 9 diamond. Turn is the 7 spade giving me what wouldve been a straight flush. River is another seven giving one of the players quads. Would've hit the bad beat jackpot and landed me 11K. Such is life... Live and learn. |
