Does J stand for jinxed?
What the hell is up with J-J? The last 20 times I had jacks in early position (limit) I won exactly twice (hit a set once and managed to raise everyone off when the flop paired deuces)! Whenever I get jacks I say to myself, "The money loser, here we go again.." and press the raise button.
How do your stats with J-J look like? -1.8 BB also? I am really thinking about limping with them trying to flop a set and dumping them otherwise. It could very well fix my biggest leak. |

Re: Does J stand for jinxed?
....I expected something like "You will see at least one overcard on the flop 57% of the times. Overall up to the river you will run into at least one overcard 76.3% of the times."

Re: Does J stand for jinxed?
JJ is the 4th best hand preflop. Just don't fall in love with it. You're looking for set, overpair or 2nd pair heads up. Otherwise, don't hesitate to dump it on the flop if an overcard or two flops, especially multiway.

Re: Does J stand for jinxed?
what stakes are you playing? JJ does poorly in the lower stakes multi way pots. But I know what you're saying with JJ. J is for jinxed in donkaments. I think I've busted out 4 out of my last 6 tournies with JJ (and those pots weren't even multiway)
