Default Mehrunes Dagon raises to $350 in a $10/20 game; how to respond?

Man, Oblivion is sooooo -EV

Anyway, I was watching this dude playing shorthanded 10/20. He was jacking it preflop to $150, $250, $350 with regularity. Raising more than 50% of hands. He'd go straight from $20 -> $300 too, these weren't reraises.

Saw him call an allin reraise with J4 after one of his preflop bombs, his $250 bumped to $900.

He had a biggish stack and would tend to fire big if he hit any part of the flop, then call an allin if he had anything.

None of the other players were really playing back at him preflop.

So, vs. this insane guy, what's the best way to play? Buy in with 2K, just wait for TPTK+, and try to double up, sucking up $250 preflop hits while waiting?

Or buy in for like $900 and try to get allin preflop with, say, A9+, 77+, KQ?

Why so decent? This guy obviously sucks. Why not trying to take his whole stack? so buy-in for 2000$

You're gonna miss a lot of flops with AJ/KQ type hands and will have to fold to his continuation bets.

Whereas you can pretty much guarantee yourself +EV by pushing good hands preflop.

Conjure a Daedra Lord to fight him for you? Hide in shadows and sneak attack for 6x damage? I guess it depends on what class/race/sign/etc you are.

I generally buy to cover and stack his ass but that's just my ego coming out.

You're still making money even though you fold a lot of flops. You're folding on 2/3 of flops and losing $250. 1/3 of the time you hit, and maybe 1/2 those times you stack him for $2000 as a huge (80%?) favorite and the other 1/2 you take down the pot. So you're making money but it's only like $75 for every hand you take a flop with him.

Getting all in preflop against him is bigger money, like $333/hand if you get it in preflop as a 2:1 favorite with $1000 stacks, $666/hand with $2000 stacks... But if you're moving in for big money with "A9+, 77+, KQ" you also have to be very leery of the other players at the table.

Buyin for 2k and get it allin preflop with A9+,88.

He is capable of folding his worse hands to 2K allins. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the most he calls with stuff like J3 is 1K.

raise it to 1k w/ A9,88+. auto push flop. if he sucks out, reload. or just buy-in for 2k and wait for monsters and push preflop w/ them. even if u only get a good hand every 3 orbits, it's still +EV. since u'll only be paying 90 dollars in blinds while waiting for a big hand and he raises to 350. either way, buy-in for 2k.
