Re: Poker Dealer, Dealers please respond
[ QUOTE ]
If you want to deal in Atlantic City you have to move to New Jersey. Only residents can get a gaming license. [/ QUOTE ] This strikes me as unconstitutional. |

Re: Poker Dealer, Dealers please respond
I know alot of young people who deal in private clubs/games in NYC and Long Island while they are still in school. You can make a great living and learn quite a bit about the game while you are at it. Of course there are some dangers, places can get robbed and or busted but on Long Island it's no worse than getting a traffic ticket, not much worse in the city. One kid made $4300 2 weeks ago in a single 10 hour session dealing $10/25 but thats an anomyly, most dealers make between $300 and $500 on an average day or night. In my experience, club dealers are usually a little better than casino dealers, at least in the clubs I frequent.

Oops, I see from your name that you may be a woman. My bad, my fault for assuming, but most people around here are men.
Still, my advice applies, and hot, flexible, intelligent, emotionally available men prefer educated women. The cute young dropout dealer gets points among creepy old degenerate poker players, but that's about it. |

Re: Poker Dealer, Dealers please respond
Young, good looking women will make a ton of money dealing. The sad thing is, you don't even have to be good.
However, if you are good and run your game well, women can make a killing dealing. It beats being a waitress because you're not on your feet all day. |

Re: Poker Dealer, Dealers please respond
I was a dealer some time ago. Cool for about 6 months, then it sucks. But you get caught in the trap...good enough money to keep you going...but you can't get rich.
Hours suck, work weekends, work holidays, have to deal with drunks/losers...just a real crappy job. I would not recommend anyone to "choose" to go into this field. |

Re: Poker Dealer, Dealers please respond
From a 15 year dealer:
If i were you i would just change the direction of my course of study, even if that means extra years of course work. If i knew then what i know now... I love my job actually, but there are different directions i SHOULD have gone. |
