Re: Help me rent a good comedy
[ QUOTE ]
goddamnit. for weeks (months?) now i've been going back and forth about this movie. i'd hear someone say they liked it, then i'd go read the reviews again that say it's terrible and decide against watching it. this post was like the third time in 24 hours i'd heard a positive comment about the movie. so i finally went and rented it. of course, the movie was absolutely terrible. i don't remember even a single mildly funny line before i finally gave up and turned it off after about 30 minutes. wtf. how could anyone like this movie? [/ QUOTE ] Did you like Supertroopers? It's the same guys (Broken Lizard or whatever) who star in / make Beerfest and Club Dread. It's not sophisticated humor, but I thought it was really funny. If you want something a little more highbrow, try Little Miss Sunshine, that was also an excellent movie but more subtle and smart, IMO. But as was previously stated, the first 15-20 minutes of Beerfest are stupid, but it gets very funny. |
