The Fan Favorites comment box on espn.com sends me on monkey tilt basically every time I visit the page. I swear the editors try and pick the dumbest and most unoriginal quotes they can find.

The Pats talk is slightly goofy, but it's true that basically nobody has EVER had a start like this. It's not nearly as dumb as most of this thread.

The '99 Rams had basically the exact same start.

Emmitt Smith on T.O.: "A leopard does not change its stripes."

That's true. Leopards never change their stripes. Haha. Emmitt. Pure gold. According to Bill Simmons on his podcast, Emmitt screwed up the Jim Valvano motto the other day too:

"Don't give up, don't even give up."

Priceless.

'Hey, you used to play football. You must be great talking about it on television.'

Yes, they did (and other teams have had similar great starts as well). But there's a huge difference between that Rams team and this year's Patriots. And it's not as if they weren't being also heavily hyped after their first six games.

Not an announcer stupidity, but a newspaper one. Today, Michigan plays Illinois and Michigan State plays OSU. So naturally, the Detroit News has a headline "MSU vs. Illinois: Something's Got To Give."

At the beginning of the tOSU-MSU game, Griese was giving Brad Nessler grief about his pink tie. Nessler says back, "Its pink for breast awareness month". Not surprisingly, Erin Andrews is the sideline reporter for this game.

Lou Holtz predicted that Notre Dame would beat USC today. That makes 8 straight weeks that he has picked Notre Dame to win.
