Re: Mark Seif responds 1/11/07. Most amusing!
[ QUOTE ]
Seif knows AP would get smoked to a crisp in a US courtoom. Paying people back what was stolen from them would be a tiny sliver of any financial settlement. [/ QUOTE ] If Seif or AP were to go after Dan Druff for libel, which is clearly hinted at in the post above, the only issue at question would be whether or not libel did occur. Cheating only matters to the extent that what Dan said was or wasn't true; AP could openly admit in court to an organized effort to steal millions from their customers, but if Dan knowingly made false statements in bad faith he can still be found guilty of libel. The real twist here is that it's in no way clear what jurisdiction any legal action would take place in. There's the tribal connection in Canada, operations in Costa Rica, people in Miami, etc. Dan's statements about this matter were made on the Internet, and I have no idea how much claim each of these jurisdictions make to the content of what's said online. If I recall correctly there is also a criminal penalty for libel in Canada, unlike in most countries where it's a civil matter. The bottom line is that Seif is doing whatever he can in order to silence Dan. If he or AP chooses to sue they may have a number of jurisdictions to choose from, which will make it expensive for Dan to defend himself no matter how baseless their lawsuit is. Real classy, Mark. |

Kinda like getting a mob boss for tax evasion... Not saying that Seif is right, just a guess. |

Re: Mark Seif responds 1/11/07. Most amusing!
The fact that Seif thinks this is some unlawful giant smear campaign against him is pretty funny. If he were to provide us credible evidence of his innocence, I think 2+2ers would be very willing to lend him more credibility and believe other comments he has made about AP.
Until that happens though, I don't see how any of these allegations are unwarranted. |

Re: Mark Seif responds 1/11/07. Most amusing!
Wouldn't it be ironic though if the only person who went to court and was found guilty was one of the players who AP cheated from? While AP, who admitted crimes against players ended up not even having to list the names involved who committed the crimes?
Now that's some kind of twisted justice. |

Re: Mark Seif responds 1/11/07. Most amusing!
It seems that Seif believes the only thread he has left to hang on is the hypothetical timeline created by Witteles early after the big news broke. Whether he's choosing to ignore this or not, the simple fact is it was made explicitly clear that the timeline was nothing more than a theory using the known pieces of the puzzle as a framework. It seems that this is the only thing Witteles has produced publicly that could possibly even be considered as a "false allegation."
Pretty thin evidence of any wrongdoing on Todd's part if you ask me. |

I haven't been following this for a while.
Back when the Scott Tom name was just coming out the general sentiment was to leave Mark Seif out of it. Has this changed? |

[ QUOTE ]
Cliff notes someone? [/ QUOTE ] Mark Seif is part-owner of AP and was aware of fraud by AJ Green and Scott Tom as it occurred, though no proof has yet been found of him taking advantage of it. |
