Default How long can American stay in other country?

Let say a country will let you stay there for as long as you want after you applied for the visa, being a U.S. citizen, how long can you stay outside the U.S. without being coming back here?

LOL No you don't have to return to the USA every year to retain citizenship.

Just visit your local US Embassy and make sure ur passport is renewed on time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Our Leader changes this at some point.

Well the longer you stay out of the countr, the more questions you gt asked at immo when you return.

LOLZA. When I returned from 5 yrs in London to USA (after having not been back to US for like 2 yrs str8) I got a 40min interview by the immo officer. Super Uber amusing since 3 yrs of those 5yrs spent in London were actually working for the US and Brit Gubment security services.

In your case, yes. If April 15th rolls around while you are over there don't forget to file.. being abroad doesn't exempt you from filing/paying.

There are some minor breaks if you are a professional and live abroad from an entire year or more.

I believe the first 80k or so is free or tax, but you have to meet some requirement such as how many days you stay there, do you have a place to live, you occupation, and so on...
