I cooked last night with mushrooms. Just dinner. Ground turkey which I combined with quickly sauteed chopped crimini mushrooms and onion, some fresh italian parsley and cilantro from the garden, a few bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and california style onion powder. I made burgers with this and topped it with a couple of slices of provolone and put it on a toasted wheat bun with some amazing beer mustard and the first harvest of butter lettuce from the garden. Yum. Again, this wasn't an entry, just dinner.

I thought though that I'd post and now that it's the weekend prod folks to compete in mushroom challenge.

SamIAm, ElSapo, Pivotonian, CardSharpCook, and all that have been MIA lately. Any plans to cook?

BTW, I don't think I've ever recommended it but The Mustard Museum is amazing if you are a mustard fan. You can get just about any mustard you can dream of through their online store. I buy this stuff for gifts and they have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Just a great, great place. There is actually a mustard museum although I've never been. They're located in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.

Anyway, hope people compete this week. It should be a fun ingredient.

Sorry I've been missing. My fiance is very (very) anti-mushroom, so I skipped this round. I have a bunch of photos to post in the "what's cooking" thread, but my apartment ran-out of internet juice a few weeks ago, so I'll get those up when I can.

It's a shame BattleMushroom didn't draw more support. It was a good ingredient.

I agree, its too bad to let this ingredient go to waste.
I think that with last weekend being Easter/Passover it was a little harder for people to pull something together. Maybe extend this one for another week or so.

Thoughts?

well, I hope this isn't too late. I made an easier version of Mushroom Chicken Risotto tonight:

Sauteed white onions and cremini mushrooms. Rub chicken with sea salt, turn heat down a little and add some white wine. Cook until done, serve over risotto. Enjoy!

(I used basmati rice, because that's what I had in the pantry).
