Default Are games tighter over Christmas Break?

Tables across the board seem to be a lot tighter over the last week. WTF?

1) Is anyone else observing this effect?

2) Does anyone else think it's related to U.S. college kids (ie. Loose donks) not playing while they are on break at Mom & Dad's house?

I'm scratching my head on this one. Anybody see this effect last christmas?

Sorry, but I think most of the loose donks are 45 yr old guys sitting at home smoking a cigar while they play. You should be happy if the college population isn't playing.

The tables have been tight the last 2 days but this is normal during transitions times. They will go back to normal soon.

This also happens when students move to and from collage. Online is college driven and this is the golden quarter in online poker. Starts in November, ends in February.

Reason for ending is two fold. One – many players are either busted out and broke, or finding that perhaps they need to buckle down.. The games get tighter.

Then there is a transition when they move back home, last 2-3 weeks.

Summer rolls and the tables are OK again – not great but survivable as students now have jobs and are making money.

They move BACK to school and get settled, more partying means less poker until real classes start when they can play more poker and this starts late October.

Has happened ever year like this since 1999.

Thus - we are deep in the Golden Quarter.

I have no idea if this is right or not, but you've certainly thought about it some. Nice work.

Also December 2004 was when I realized that nitty multitabling was the way to beat 10NL. December 2006 I learned to beat 100NL. Looking forward to 2010. Yeah 10000NL!
