it's 271 to me. villain is 24/19, pretty decent/aggro. he probably sees me the same. i was trying to crai on the flop, btw.

i dont get the flop check..

i guess bc you folded you thought he was value pushing the river. looks like 88 or 77 or TT or nothing to me...

I can't put him on a hand on the river so I'd call.

fwiw, with your flop check i dont even mind checking the turn. although if he bets, i would then shove. if it goes check check, id value bet a non diamond rag or a ten, and probably checkcall a 8. fold to another diamond and maybe some broadways. (obv not a jack tho, thats a money card.)

my thinking on the flop was that if he raised or called i wouldn't know what to do and would likely make a significant mistake. i guess in retrospect bet-call is not too bad.

villain can have 78s/T8s and i think he can also push KK/AA for value. i figured his only bluff hands are things like AdKx, and there aren't that many of those, and he has enough showdown value that he might check behind.

sometimes i havew the best hand, sometimes i have the best draw, sometimes both, but im OOP on the river and really wont know wtf to do on a ton of cards.. shoving just sorta puts the onus on him.

edit. btw. your hand is underrepped checking 2 streets in the rr pot, villain on the turn probably puts hero on a small pair or AK/AQ type whiff. when hero then c/r all in a huge % of his hand range looks like a overs+diamonds, there is alot of value to be made there (which wont be present for the river)

if I check call the turn its because i feel villain has a better hand alot (even though in practice this isnt true) so I would simply c/f unimproved.
