Re: LA Touristy Stuff
Agree on The Getty Center (off of the 405, NOT the Getty Villa off of PCH). It's free admissions, all you pay is $5 for parking. Assuming you're in your 20's, here's a few more:
- Hollywood: Sunset and Hollywood Blvd are standards, but make it down to Melrose and check it out. - Pasadena (Old Town), Newport/Laguna areas, Santa Monica (3rd Street), Venice/Santa Monica Beach - Beverly Hills. - Do some online research for restaurants and bars. The above mentioned locations have a good concentration of night life, so it'll just depend on your taste and budget. |

Re: LA Touristy Stuff
I've done that and Fatburger in Vegas. Can't say I was hugely impressed. Still a fast food Burger. Any decent diner burger is better.

In-N-Out burgers! man...I wish they had one out in NYC. [/ QUOTE ] In-N-Out is extremely overrated. The burgers are decent for a fast food burger, but they are not even up to Whataburger quality. And the fries are absolutely gross. They taste freeze-dried. |

Re: LA Touristy Stuff
Getty is a must.
Malibu is arright depending on weather. Culver City if you wanna see some studios. Hollywood is arright if you have never been there, but there is little to see (unless your are gunna watch the kimmel show). Beverly Hills has a sick good mall. IDK what its called, but its full of superficial ppl, and spoiled little kids. UCLA might be interesting to see. Its really close to Beverly hills. Downtown Huntington beach is fun. Its an 30min drive on a good day from downtown LA. Well worth it if you like beach life and bars. |

Re: LA Touristy Stuff
Other touristy places I've taken friends from out of town to: - Newport Beach - LA Citywalk - Sunset Strip (Saddleranch, Standard hotel, Lucky strike bowling etc...) - Hollywood sign - Griffith Observatory - Marina Del Rey - Boat ride to Catalina Island via San Pedro - Santa Barbara - Venice Beach also if u like movies and whatever u can goto Universal studios or paramount and check out the backlots...definitely touristy. I could go on and on, LA is definitely a very touristy place. |
