Default Los Angeles Poker rake for Limit Hold-em

Hi,
I just stopped by the Hustler Casino and the only reasonable limit Hold-em game they had going was 25-50 Limit Hold-em. I noticed the rake was $5 per hand and $1 for the jackpot. They had auto shuffle machines, so I assume they are getting about 40 hands per hour. That means they are taking about $240/hour off the table before tips. The average player is paying about $25/hour to play 25-50 limit Hold-em.

Is that really beatable for much in the long-run?

Also, what are the Commerce and Bike charging for rake in the 20-40 and 40-80 games?

Thanks.

The games at Commerce have a brutal rake also, I don't play limit but the no limit games are a joke.

The $400 max 5-10 NL has a $5 dollar rake and $1 jackpot. It doesn't matter what the size of the pot is, they take $1 preflop, $5 on the flop and $6 if there is a turn. Even if the blinds check it down the whole way ($20 dollar pot) they take $6 out.

The 10-20 NL is a time game, but they take $10 every half hour. Thats $20 bucks an hour just to play, plus tips.

The no limit games are stil beatable because the action is so crazy, but I don't think I can ever get used to a rake like that.

With shuffle machines and higher limit players this isn't hard to accomplish.

Dont play at the Commerce.. support the Hawaiian Gardens. Their rake is much lower. 4$ per pot (0$ no flop) at their 50/100 limit game. Free food. Way better deal.

25 hands per hour, she said cynically.

But I've only played at Commerce, although, guys, the food is just as free there or at least no one ever said anything to me about paying for it. And honestly I'm a little long in the tooth to be getting by on my looks.
